Just to post this to everyone, since I had a few people respond to my similar
request:

shape.h is part of the X11R4 release.

If you remove references to shape (ie -DSHAPE, and I think an include for
shape.h) you can compile it for X11R3.

I got it up and running, and it's great!  Thanks!
