X is broken in 4.2bsd

There seems to be a lot of news of late based on the following templates:
"I tried using X in 4.2bsd and it is broken, but I've fixed it.
The diffs follow."
"Why did they change X in 4.2bsd? It breaks everything in sight."
"I have something for 4.2bsd which simulates what everyone elses UNIX does."
"Try X on your 4.2bsd system and watch it trash Y."
"You need spaces after an X to make Y work in 4.2bsd."
Is 4.2 really this disastorous or is it AT&T propoganda generated by a
shell script on research? How about Dennis?
