     The week of December 2-6, 1985, the Professional Development 
Committee of the Washington,  D.C. Chapter of ACM is offering ten 
Professional  Development Seminars at the University of Maryland, 
Center of Adult Education in College Park.   Two courses will  be 
held  concurrently from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day.   Lodging is 
available on and off campus.   The courses (with their respective 
speakers) are:

Dec. 2  ADP Risk Analysis:  A Programmatic Focus (Charles A. Cave 
          and Edwin M. Jaehne).

Dec. 2  Architecting the DSS/4GL Environment (W. H. Inmon).

Dec. 3  Microcomputer Based Expert Systems for Managers (Dr.  Tom 
          Nagy and Dick Gault).

Dec. 3  Technomics  - Economics  of Technology and  the  Computer 
          Industry (W. H. Inmon).

Dec. 4  Logical  Database  Design (John C.  Tunnell  and  Ron  A. 
          Phillips).

Dec. 4  Local Network Technology (Dr. William Stallings).

Dec. 5  Creating  Direct Manipulation User  Interfaces  (Dr.  Ben 
          Shneiderman).

Dec. 5  The UNIX Operating System (Dr. John H. Carson).

Dec. 6  Software Development in Pascal (Dr. Thomas F. Reid).

Dec. 6  C Programming  for  the Experienced Programmer  Design  / 
          Analyst (Dr. John H. Carson).

     Registration fees (including lunch,  refreshments at breaks, 
and course text material) are:

     ACM Chapter Members                          $135
     Non-members                                  $150
     At door or less than 10 days before seminar  $170
     Student                                      $ 50
     Invoicing fee (per registrant)               $ 25
