In the short time I have been reading postings on Usenet, I
have been lucky enough to here about several fascinating papers
or memos from the past. I read of HAKMEM here, and am slowly trying to
learn from it. (Interesting, but obtuse)
(Or maybe I'm obtuse..., and HAKMEM is obscure)
Someone also asked for the "/* NOTREACHED */ C programming style paper".
That was also great. One of the the authors was very helpful when I
reached him with email.
My question is this, and I think many others will benefit also.
What other papers, or sources of information might be found. I can't define
exactly what I am looking for, but HAKMEM and /* NOTREACHED */ are
excellent samples. So is the book The Unix Programming Environment,
and Elements of Programming Style. I am a CS student, and my interests
are very general. I have already started to read the Usenix publications,
and I try to keep up with the monthly mags as well.
Thanks a lot. If people email me directly with responses I will
organize them and repost them to the net.
