I just received my MS Macro Assembler 5.1 upgrade notice. It too will
run $25 for an upgrade but I noticed a small error that could be to
someones advantage. On the official barcoded upgrade for it lists
an upgrade fee of $25 for version 5.0 and $75 for "...version 4.0 or
lower..." On the update letter it states the following:
"Users of versions lower than 4.0 can obtain version 5.1 (a $150
value) for $75. Users of version 4.0 or higher can update for
only $25."
Now I'm not a lawyer but I believe than anyone pressing the issue
could upgrade 4.0 for $25. I wonder if they will make the same mistake
on MSC 5.1?
Oh, one side note to those who had their checks cashed by MS months before
they received the product. This upgrade will be even better...they
will deposit all check *and* charge all cards "...immediately upon
receipt by Microsoft."
FYI: The Macro Assembler also includes the editor and OS/2 support.
