This line of reasoning also rules out integer-to-pointer casts,
as I noted earlier:
struct rkdevice *rkaddr = (struct rkdevice *)0777440;
I am perfectly happy with ill-defined constructs. (I consider other
some arguments for and against volatile valid.)
