Another way to think about this is [-1,0,1]; this might
give the same answers as above, although I can imagine:

   AND   -1 0 1        OR   -1 0 1    INVERSION

     -1 |-1 0 0         -1 |-1-1 0       -1 | 1
      0 | 0 0 0          0 |-1 0 1        0 | 0
      1 | 0 0 1          1 | 0 1 1        1 |-1
