binary file sort (Was Re: compare strings, srcmp)

Hear, hear.  Does anyone know of an efficient easily-obtainable binary file
sort utility for UNIX?  (BSD, preferably.)  It would need to at least be
able to sort logical records of fixed length according to specified fields
in the records.   Thanks.
