Needed info on OBJ files.

Could someone out there send me in the direction of information on OBJ files
and their structures... I intend to write a compile, and don't want to reverse
engineer OBJ files.  Some more questions:  are they the same for all computers,
I would imagine they are not.  I would be particularly interested in PC OBJ
