CTask and multi-user?

Greetings. I am writing a multi-user database program that
will run off a 386 based server. I will have no more that
4 users. I am in the first stage : looking for a multi-user
shell.
I have the documentation for CTask 2.0 (if anyone has newer
verions, please let me know) and it seems to be just about
right for my application.
I am just wondering if there is a better way than create
4 tasks, run them under CTask, and have 4 terminals that
communicate with the 4 tasks? (pseudo-multi-user?)
The reason for the magic number 4 is the fact that that's
the maximum number of "painless" COM ports...
I would appreciate any suggestions. I am looking for comments
on CTask, better programs, other ways of "doing it", etc.
Thank you.
