Help: SUN Spark-calling Fortran functions

I am interested in calling Fortran subroutines from C - programs.  

I am using "SUN SPARC Workstation 1" with SUN OS Release 4.1 and I am using
System V version of C compiler.

After going through the FAQ for C language, I got following information.

>> The answer is entirely dependent on the machine and the specific calling sequences
>> of the compliers in use, and may not be possible at all.

I tried to figure it out my self but without success.  Can you inform me whether
it is possible to call or not?  If the answer is Yes, please through some more
light on the problem.
