|The next meeting of UniForum Toronto, the southern Ontario
|UNIX\footnote{UNIX is a trademark of UNIX Systems Laboratories} users'
|group, takes place Wednesday, January 23,
|1991 at 6:45 PM in the Rose Room of the North York Memorial Community Hall. 
|The main presentation will be an introduction to the new release of UNIX
|by AT&T, System V Release 4.
|    
|Along with giving UNIX users the opportunity to meet each other, the
|group is designed to help users learn more about UNIX. A number of
|Special Interest Groups (SIGs), each with its own leader, will deal with
|particular elements of UNIX in an informal manner, after the main
|presentation is concluded:
|
|Communications			Richard Greenall, Digital Equipment Corp 
|Databases			Lou Ferrante, Sequent Computer Systems 
|New Users			Ted Cowie, TVC Enterprises 
|Programming			D'Arcy Cain, D'Arcy Cain Consulting 
|Text/Word Processing		Evan Leibovitch,  Sound Software 
|UNIX Tools			Peter Renzland,  Ontario Ministry of Health 
|Graphics/Windows		John Dorn, GraphOn Systems
|
|Also underway is an extensive software library, which will offer users
|access to the extensive archives of useful UNIX free software. This
|software library is be maintained by Georg Nikodyn of SCO Canada,
|Drew Sullivan of Systems Software, and Rick McCalla of Comspec.
|
|UniForum Toronto is affiliated with UniForum Canada,
|the national association of UNIX users. Through this
|affiliation, we are associated with local UNIX groups in Vancouver,
|Edmonton, Calgary, London, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec and
|Halifax.
|
|The North York Memorial Community Hall is located on the bottom floor of
|the North York Main Library building, located next to North York
|City Hall at the corner of Yonge Street and Park Home Avenue. By subway,
|exit at the North York Centre station. By car, the Hall is located just
|a few blocks north of the intersection of Yonge Street and Highway 401.
|
|No fees are presently required to attend this meeting.
