PFORT

My recollections are a little rusty, but here is what I think to be the
case, and a pointer to a colleague who can say more.

PFORT is a set of "standards" for writing "portable" FORTRAN. They
originated at Bell Labs Murray Hill, I should remember who first defined
them but cannot. There exists a PFORT vewrfier written in portable FORTRAN
which like "lint" checks for conformity. The FORTRAN in question is
FORTRAN IV.
