How bad is it?

My 3B1 died on me last night. I tried booting the floppy filesystem
and got this lovely message (folded for clarity):
#HDERR: ST:51 EF:10 CI:FF00 CH:FF00 SN:FF00 SC:FF02 SDH:FF20 DMACNT:FFFF
DCRREG:F0 MCRREG:8B00
When I got home it was making lots of funny noises that sounded like the
hard disk seeking back and forth. I tried an 'ls' and it crashed.
Pressing the hardware reset gave me the marching boxes. As soon as I
put in the boot floppy it found the disk and booted. It found the
motherboard and memory OK and asked for the floppy filesystem. I put
in the disk and hit return, it gave the above error 3 times and died.
I haven't tried running diagnostics yet.
Can anyone decode the error message? Is my disk dead?
