What is "NOTICE: growreg - Insufficient memory..." on SVR3

Hi folks,
We have a 3B2/400 running SVR3.1 v2, and we recently got the
message on the console:
NOTICE: growreg - Insufficient memory go allocate 1 page - system call failed.
and programs die with the "no space" message. I did a "swap -l"
and it seems that we have plenty of swap space available, but I
might not have looked at precicely the right time. I could not
find this message in the _SVR3 System Administrators Guide_, and
it does not look to be the same problem as the region table
overflowing (controlled by the NREGION tunable parameter). A
strings of the SVR2 kernel does not show this message, so it is
likely related to paging.
If I am indeed out of swap space I can just reconfigure with
minimal difficulty, but I don't want to do it if not necessary.
Does anybody have any firm knowledge of this ? Alternatively,
If you donate an AT&T SVR3 source licence I will figure this out
For myself :-) :-) :-).
On a related note, does anybody know where I can get the
Performance Monitor Package (pmon and memmon)? I have 3B2
version 0416.1 but it starts to fall apart on a paging system
(works great for SVR2). Source would be great, but binary is OK
too. The startup message directs comments to cuuxb!pej, but a
customer writing to that address was greeted by mailer bounce.
Anybody?
Thanks,
Steve
