Unless you are willing to make some changes to the disk utilities it will
not recognize non-AT&T supported drives. Also if you are going to use AT&T
drives, and want to go to a larger capacity than the standard 147's that
the 600 first had, you will probably want Release 3.0 of the Host Adapter
and Disk Utilities in order to recognize the larger drives and/or any embedded
SCSI drives. The last thing to consider is that any warranty you have may
be voided by non-AT&T supported drives.
