The training out here at the Goodwill, is vocational
training.  So, it is more like on-the-job training than
anything, because I am being paid a small amount while
working, but yet I am also getting trained at the same
time.  My goals for Goodwill are
    To develop job search, interviewing, and
      retention skills.
    To assist in vocational exploration
    To develop appropriate socialization skills
    To build confidence and maturity
    To attend work daily and to be punctual
    To learn to follow directions and rules
    To learn a job skills
I started out making $0.45 per hour, now I am making
$3.80 per hour.  Because of the nature that Goodwill
is, the maximum trainees can make is $3.80 per hour.
My training will terminate at Goodwill when I am
hired on with another company.  The job skills I
have learned while at Goodwill are office/clerical
work and skills.

I was a kitchen helper and a bus boy.  The
goals were for me to help around the kitchen
and clean and clear off the tables after people
were done eating.  I had to quit so soon though,
because there simply were not enough customers to
keep me on.  I was not the only person who was
laid off at the time.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

I have been working with computers now for about 13 years.
Everything I know about computers, I have basically taught
myself.  However, in High School, I was in a couple of
computer classes, and in college I took a computer class.
Although I have not been in working environments with
computers, the information I have learned, I have learned
on my spare time at home.  I know how to use just about
any computer system out there, and just about ALL software
If I don't know how to do something with the computer, I
can easily learn it, and generally quite quickly.

DISABILITIES:

I have a slight vision problem.  I do not have that
much problems with my vision, unless I am in a very
dim lighted area, and occassionally some small
print is hard for me to read.  Whatever I have
been told to do, I WILL accomplish, although some
things I might be slower at doing than others.  I
have problems with my asthma, and need an inhaler
or my breathing machine some.  Most of the time at
home I use the breathing machine, but at work, I
can bring an inhaler when I need it.  I also have
problems with allergies.  Due to my allergies, my
nose is stopped up 90% of the time, resulting in
me breathing through my mouth most of the time.
In return, it dries out my mouth and requires me
to need something to drink more than normal.  I
will make do though, on what my working
environment consists of though.  The one thing I
absolutely CANNOT have is anything with PEANUTS.
PEANUTS or anything with PEANUTS make me severely
sick.
