Basic compilers

We're seeing a potential user requirement to provide a Basic compiler
and development environment in our delivered system.  We will be
delivering something like a Power Series class machine (real-time Unix,
POSIX enviornment, multiprocessor, and so on).  Not having followed
the state of Basic compilers since my high school days, I wonder
what's available.  Any sources of information would be appreciated.
