Metafont using Tektronix emulation

I have installed Metafont on a Personal Iris and am running it
in the Tektronix emulation mode in xterm.  The program runs
but does not display anything - although it will on another
Iris on the network, a GT.  I'm not sure where to look for
the problem, does anyone have any suggestions?
