Mountain View, California (February 12, 1991) Silicon Graphics, Inc.
(NYSE:SGI) stated today that it is not presently involved in merger
discussions with Compaq Computer Corporation or any other company.
Silicon Graphics confirmed that it is engaged in strategic business
relationship discussions with a number of companies, including Compaq,
but such discussions are consistent with Silicon Graphics' strategy
to remain independent.
