driver help needed for KODAK 560 jukebox

I am looking for information for a customer on these topics: 


Dual Channelling IPI and/or SMD drives for mirror image backup.  
		 Driver and hardware considerations, has anyone done this on and SGI,
		 if so how, etc.  The scenario would be two systems talking to the same
		 disk farm and if one system dies then the other would pick it up.
		 In the early eighties Harris/Logicon had a machine(TPS6000) that did
		 this to cdc 300mb smds, so something along that line would help.

Driver for the recently announced Kodak 560 optical jukebox,
		 in particular something that would play well with IRIX.
		 If a driver is not available what would be a good estimate
		 of man hours to do one (the scsi side not the rs232 robotics stuff,
		 as the customer feels this is a no-brainer) assuming a reasonable
		 level of driver experience.
																				  
	  Any help with this would be appreciated and I will forward all info 
	  to the customer in question. If someone prefers dealing direct let me 
	  know and I can arrange a hookup.  This customer doesn't have access to 
	  the net.
