X11/R3 Server Problems

I have a question concerning a SPARC station with CG3 monitor.  When I
start the server up at draws the stipple pattern and everything comes up
ok. However, upon exiting X a cloud or haze overlays the entire screen. So
far rebooting is the only way of getting rid of this "haze".


Any suggestions?
