The Second Annual Sun User Group Southwest Regional Technical Conference
Monday, October 9th, 1989
Albuquerque Convention Center
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Hosted this year by the Central New Mexico Sun Local User Group (last year
it was hosted by the Los Alamos SLUG), this one-day conference will
feature a keynote speaker from Sun Microsystems, user application talks,
and a Sun Developers' Panel session, as well as presentations by 3rd-party
software and hardware vendors of products which run on or with Sun
computers. Also, Sun Microsystems will be hosting a "listening booth,"
similar to the one it had at the national conference in Miami last year,
where attendees may air their gripes, complaints, complements,
suggestions, or just random thoughts to representatives from Sun.
In addition, the Annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will be
held October 7th through the 14th, allowing conference attendees arriving
on Friday, the 6th, the opportunity to witness the mass ascensions which
kick off the fiesta Saturday and Sunday mornings before going to the
conference on Monday. Or, stay through the week after the conference,
take in the daily ballooning events, and watch the mass ascensions the
next weekend (or both!).
Registration is a paltry $20.00 for SUG members, $50.00 for non-members
($20.00 registration fee, and $30.00 SUG membership fee). A registration
form is below, which you can print, fill out, and send in with your
payment, or you can just E-mail the requested information using a Visa or
Mastercard number.
Travel arrangements may be made through Rosenbluth Travel. All attendees
are offered a discounted room rate of $85 per night at the Albuquerque
DoubleTree Hotel if arrangements are made through Rosenbluth. Call
1-800-222-1035 (ask for Fernanda or Gerri, and be sure to tell them that
you're going to the SUG Conference).
* * * * NOTE: The room block reserved for the conference is limited, and
all hotel rooms, rental cars, etc., in Albuquerque will sell out quickly
due to the Balloon Fiesta, SO MAKE YOUR ARRANGEMENTS *EARLY*! * * * *
All interested Sun users are invited, so plan on taking a long weekend in
October to come to Albuquerque for the Regional User Group Conference, and
maybe take in the Balloon Fiesta as well.
