Yes, your discounts may vary. When I worked in a university (FIT), we got
discounts of up to %50 from DEC and %60 from SUN (although the DEC
discount was technically considered a matching grant).
In our corporation, we usually receive much better discounts from SUN than
DEC. I'm sure almost everyone who uses SUN or DEC products receives some
sort of discount from both.
In my article, I clearly stated *LIST* price, which is the only consistent
measure to use in an arena as large as USENET. I also think most net
readers are bright enough to realize they may be able to get substantial
discounts from either vendors.
BTW, thanks for your article. Does anyone out there have any info on other
vendor's products (e.g. HP)?
