Hi folks
On two of our Suns, 3/75 diskless and 3/52 (with / , /tmp and /pub on a
local SCSI disk) all running OS3.2 for over two years now with no
problems, start doing strange things:
While doing normal work on it, mostly editing and debugging with dbx under
Suntools, it suddenly (and silently) changes the UID to some other user or
even root. Files which might then be created belong to a not existing user
(our highest usernumber is 9000):
ls -l:
-rw-r--r-- 1 20568 24235 Feb 17 22:29 dbeditor.mpp
-rw-r--r-- 1 20568 2645 Feb 17 22:27 lop
Logging out works but logging in again crashes the machine with this
message:
login:

and reboots again. This happens about twice a week. There was nothing
that changed on the network configuration and we didn't install new
software either.
I would be glad if someone out there has an idea what this is!
