Sun 3/60 Expert wanted - symptoms in article

I am having the following symptoms on my Sun 3/60 workstation:

* mail returns when it is deleted.  it goes into the trash box, but when I
  exit the mail tool and return, or select commit, all the deleted mail
  comes back.  Removing the entire mail file after I have exited the tool
  removes the mail, but I have to want to remove all of it at once.

* In using Interleaf, when I edit "props" in a document, the process
  receives "Window data lock broken after time limit exceeded by pid.  The
  offending process was sent SIGXCPU" and it rudely exits the process. The
  time limit I have set is infinity.

Any hints as to why this might happen would be greatly appreciated.
