SUN 3/50 Harddisk fails to spin! Any cheap solution?

If your Sun harddisk is called a "141 meg", then it is probably a
Micropolis 1355 ESDI drive, with an Emulex ESDI-to-SCSI controller card
inside the shoebox. Or, if it is considered a "71 meg", it might be a
Micropolis 1325, with an Adaptec MFM-to-SCSI controller card.

One quirky thing about micropolises: If they squeak or have trouble
spinning, you have to pull them, unscrew the board, and clean the dust
from the fanblade-looking things around the center hub, as well as oil the
center hub ground strap (that black thing on the piece of copper
leaf-spring). Use sewing machine oil, and a decent amount of it. This
might fix your problems. But, then again, it could be a power supply
problem, or the drive could be blown. Still, it's worth trying.
