ksh on Sun-3's running 4.1

We just recieved ksh from AT&T (version 11/16/88d)  We're trying to put it
up on Sun 3's under 4.1.  The problems were having are in job control.  A
stopped job, when resumed, just hang. 

The Question:  Has anyone done got ksh working on Sun 3's under 4.1?
 	       If so, could you throw some pointers my way.
