Problem in building customized kernel on sparc

I was trying to build a customized kernel, when it went into a rebooting
loop, saying bad data, bad trap, etc. Is there a way to get a core dump or
sometething, in order to find out just where or due to what the kernel
does not boot correctly ? Please e-mail responses to ghatak at utkcs.utk.edu
