Pinging packet problem

One of our Sun SLCs (with Sun OS 4.1) is loosing packets when it pings
another machine (typically 50-60% loss). There's no problem when another
machine pings it. Other machines on the same stretch of thin-wire ping
to/fro with no loss.

Anyone seen this before or have an idea what could cause it? I can supply
any information you want if your interested. I thought I would try not to
cloud the issue with my tunnel vision.
