AnswerBook/OpenWindows conflict??

I just installed AnswerBook from CD onto my SLC.  I did the
intermediate installation, 50 MB version.  But now I cannot start
openwindows anymore:

tomato login: my_name
[...]

tomato % openwin
XNeWS: Cannot find fonts.
FONTPATH='/usr/openwin/lib/fonts'
[etc. It says, evetually, "I give up."]

I compared this font directory with the one on the original
distribution cd.  There were about 4 or 5 extra files installed on
disk. 

Any guidance would be appreciated.
