Speech Synthesizing software for Sparc 2??

I'm posting this for someone without current mail/news access, but replies
have to go to me (because he doesn't have mail access :) )

Does anyone know of any software to take ASCII text and convert so that it can
be used to generate speech via /dev/audio on a Sparc 2?  It doesn't have to be
the most perfect software, but he thinks that considering a TI Speak and Spell
can do it a Sparc 2 should be able to also :)  Any help is much appreciated...
