Booting from ExaByte

Our environment:
SparcStation1s and SparcStation1+s with SunOS 4.1,
SparcStation2s with SunOS 4.1.1

Our problem:
We have to boot from floppy and then read files from ExaByte tape
to install our software (the reason why would be to long to explain :-)).
Now we would like to boot from ExaByte tape.
We have tried to copy (with dd) the SunInstall Cartridge tapes
to ExaByte tapes and then to boot with no luck.
So I think what we need is a boot block for Exabyte tapes.
Anyone out there with a solution?
