Sun 3 Family & Home Use

Please excuse my ignorance but could someone please post the differences
between members of the Sun 3/xx and Sun 3/xxx family.  My understanding is
that they are based on Motorola 68020 and 68030 processors at various
clock speeds.  There just seems to be so many different numbers.

I tried to find some marketing literature but it is mostly geared towards
the Sparcs.

Does anyone have opinions about using them as standalone home computers
(for hacker types such as myself)?
