Will have IP address soon--what now?

	Help.

	I don't know if this is the right newsgroup..if not, please
don't flame, just gently direct me where I should go.

	I will be procuring a connection to the Internet soon, and
will have an IP address.  Can someone tell me how I can go about
setting up things like ftp, telnet, mail, access to Usenet news, and
so forth?  What software do I need?  What steps do I need to go
through to get my machine's name registered on the net as a host?

	Please reply via E-mail.  I can't get through all of this
group all the time.
