Please Unbundle Products WAS: X11R(>3) for AIX

Just to get my two sense in....

   IBM...Why can't you guy unbundle your software from your operating system? Why not offer AIXWindows as the separate package you purport it to be and sell me the latest and greatest version of X11/Motif as soon as possible, rather than waiting for the next OS to bundle it with. Wasn't this the same Mentality that
IBM used with their mainframe software many years ago? (and possibly even now, but I am not a mainframe administrator). Other vendors are more than willing to sell me an OS, or just an application. Even IBM will sell me that application; they just won't upgrade it until the next release.

  Isn't the whole idea of X/Motif to be as opertaing system level independent as possible?
