problems with 3003 --- NCAR graphics

  After upgrading several machines to AIX 3.1-3003, we have found
that the NCAR graphics libraries we have no longer work.  We were
forced to recompile them, and now the new libraries do not work at 
all.  Most sample programs exhibit bizarre behavior when 
executing and generally core dump.  The original libraries compiled
under GA code did so almost effortlessly, and worked correcly
pretty much the first time through.  Has anyone figured out 
what IBM has done to the fortran compiler in this release?  
The release notes are not very specific and I can find little 
documentation outside of that which might be of any help.

  As an aside, any opinions on the AIX upgrade procedures in general
and version 3003 in particular.
