Problems compiling Perl 3.0

I am trying to install perl 3.0.44 on AIX 3.1, and it doesn't work :-(
Compilation fails with a million syntax errors due to missed header
files (I think). Has anyone solved this one ? If you have,
please, please, please let me know.
