Project Leader for UNIX environment
MSRI, Berkeley, CA
The Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) in Berkeley is seeking a
talented and dedicated person to lead the design and development of a state-
of-the-art computing environment for research mathematicians. Necessary
skills include experience and extensive knowledge of UNIX. Systems hacking
experience will be especially useful, as well as experience withJuser interfaces
and graphics. Experience with symbolic manipulation systems (e.g.
MACSYMA, Scratchpad II, Maple, Mathematica) would be valuable, but is not
essential.
The project leader will serve as the on-site UNIX expert for MSRI, and will
supervise at leastJone part-time position that will assist in the implemen-
tation of the system. The position is envisaged to be full time at a
competitive salary.
