I have a few questions I hope to have answered regarding A/UX. It is
to be eventually used on a IIci.
Does anyone know which hard drives (from 80meg and up) are not compatible
with A/UX? I seem to recall some mention of this in past postings. What
drives would you recommend for use with A/UX?
As for tape drives for archival purposes, does all the current drives
with various tape drive formats eg. TEAC DC600,DC200 etc. work with
A/UX when attached to a IIci? If not, what are the tape drives that
will work with both A/UX and MacOS?
In general, are all SCSI devices accessible by MacOS also accessible
by A/UX?
How much disk memory does A/UX, GNU-emacs, gcc, X11 each require
individually? Will GNU and X work on with A/UX or a hacked version
required? Is a C compiler packaged with A/UX ?
I would appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on the above
queries. I have a feeling that not all peripherals attached
to a Mac are equal where MacOS and A/UX are concerned. I hope
to also discover the reason behind the incompatibilities. Guidance
to more literature regarding A/UX would be helpful.
Thanks in advance to those who are kind enough to respond. Please
