Removable drives and A/UX

Has anyone successfully used a SyQuest-based removable cartridge hard disk
with A/UX? I am trying to use a MicroNet MR-45 with A/UX, but am having no luck.
The drive works fine in the Mac OS, and the MicroNet software even partitions
disks for use under A/UX. But when I attempt to access the drive from A/UX
(using dp or pname), I get error messages. For example:
# dp /dev/rdsk/c3d0s31
Disk write c3d0s31 Error: More data than SCSI device requested
generic disk c3d0s31 Retry limit: Logical block 0, physical block 0
/dev/rdsk/c3d0s31: no such device or address
(and various other messages). The MicroNet tech support people claim that
a handful of installations are actually using their drive with A/UX,
but they have no advice on my problem. Any ideas?
System info: Mac IIx with A/UX 1.1; drive is SCSI ID 3, daisy-chained
to several Apple/Quantum 80SC's. (Yes, /dev/rdsk/c3d0s31 does exist...)
