X11R4 from wustl "can't ioctl(): Invalid argument"

I wrote:

	can't ioctl(): invalid argument

So, I switched my monitors around so that my trusty Apple 8-bit video
card was installed as the first monitor, and tried it again, this
time just from the command line.  Here's what I got:
