mounting syquest drives

Does anyone have an idea of how to mount syquest drives under A/UX
(containing both aux and mac/os partitions). I have prepared my
drive using silverlining 5.25 to contain mac and usr partitions.
However, any attempt to access the scsi device with the syquest disk
results in an error message stating something like "More data sent
than requested" (this independent of whether the disk is already spun
up when aux boots or not).
