Help! Can't boot A/UX

This morning I tried booting A/UX from Mac IIfx with sys 6.0.7 and it froze.
This has happened before, so I made sure to do the standard recovery
by first minimizing the number of INIT's loading and by putting the
heap back to the minimal amount (default plus 80k). Then I invoked
fsck -p /dev/dsk/c0d0s0
and another time
autorecovery
after cancelling the A/UX Startup.
Both fsck and autorecovery told me that the file system was dirty and modified.
But when I tried to boot subsequently, the startup died about 1/8 to 1/5 of
the way done with a "Unexpectedly quit. System Error 3", the dreaded
"Illegal instruction" Dire Straits error. I allowed TMON to load after
resetting, and when the same error was encountered, the illegal instruction
was at 40800000 in an assembly routine called 'MYROM'. Subsequently TMON
froze up with a "Nasty Exception" message; in the Finder the machine would
freeze when I put the cursor over the Apple Menu.
I have been able to recover from these errors in the past via fsck and
autorecovery. Can anyone help? Thanks, in advance, Gurus and neo-Gurus.
