Tape backup (no, not again!)

I'm sure it's been beaten to death, but I missed it! What do people use for
backup? I'm aware of some problems with some removeable drives, and I
caught an endorsement of the Hammer tape drive. How about the cheap tape
drives advertised in the back of MacWeek et al.? Also, does anyone have
anything good to say about the Apple tape drive? (I assume it works with
A/UX...)     Thanks a lot for your time.    E.
