386 PC as mail server?

I'm planning to set up a 386 PC as a mail and news server on a network
of Suns. My current plan is to remote mount the spool files onto the
Sun, so I need a Unix that understands NFS. I also want to have all
mail (including local mail) sent to the PC for delivery, so I need the
PC to run sendmail. This is the way it's working now, with a Sun
as the mail server.
My main concerns are:
1) Is there an NFS that works on Unix-running PC's? Is there a problem
going between the SysV Unix on PC's and the Berkeley Unix on the Sun,
or does NFS handle this in some reasonable fashion?
(It should; PC-NFS interfaces MS-DOS and Unix.)
2) What about the availability of sendmail for SysV? Can Berkeley-style
sockets connect to it?
3) Do any of the PC Unix vendors supply NFS and/or sendmail, or do these
need to be obtained separately?
4) Has anyone else done this? If so, are there any awful pitfalls I need
to know about? Any vendors to steer clear of?
Please send Email, and I'll summarize.
