Sorry, this is a repost of an earlier article. The original article
was corrupted beyond recognition.

I'm posting the following message for a friend, please DIRECT

Thank you.

To save bandwidth, I'm combining three messages into one:
(1) Gateway 386-33 and AT&T System V 3.2.2 Installation;
(2) SVGA 1024x768 device drivers for System V 3.2.2;
(3) serial mouse device driver and ESIX.

I posted an earlier inquery on having trouble installing System V3.2.2 on
a Gateway 386-33 w/ a micronics motherboard. I got an "Panic: parity error
on motherboard" message during the initial installation (boot disk). After
a few phone calls to the Gateway technical support, I finally found what
the "problems" were: I cannot have a DOS partition (has to be the primary
by the way, if you intend to have DOS co-exists with Unix) larger than 32
MBytes. After I re-partitioned the HD, the installation went flawlessly from
there. (This 32 Mbytes limitation was not mentioned on the AT&T installation
guide.)
I have called Gateway many times since I bought the machine. Although they
(technical support) almost never returned my calls (except sales), once
I was able to talk to them in person, they are helpful and courteous.
Overall: I am happy with their service and I will buy from them again.
Their is only one big minus: they offer very limited product line.
I wanted to replace their Tatung SVGA monitor with a 16" 1280x1024 SVGA
monitor (w/i 30 days of the initial purchase). They only offer UNO type:
Nanao 9070U (1024 x 768) at $1200. Oh, well.
My special thanks to:

I recevied no leads on how to obtain a SVGA device driver for X11.3 running
under System V.3.2.2.
I recalled someone mentioned ESIX came with a 800x600 ATI device driver.
(The ESIX compatible hardward list also stated it supports ATI Wonder.)
Solution: I ordered a copy of ESIX 3.2D from the Programmer's Shop (MA) on
last Friday. The price was $569.0 (listed at $595.0.)
Programmer's Shop was the only mail order firm I found that carries
ESIX's products. It took me a while to research that info.
The questions I have in mind are:
Where did you purchase your copy? Thru resellers, mail order houses, or
direct? I know it's a little late to ask that question now but it would be
interesting to find out anyhow.
It's $$$ for me to call the States (from Germany) for technical support. Will
ESIX support users thru' email? Does ESIX has any branch offices in Germany/
Europe? (Sorry if someone has asked this before but I do not have direct
access to USENET.)

Yes, ESIX supports Logitech serial mouse and comes with a device driver
with the package.
I have to apologize to (5) kind individuals who sent in their responese: I
accidentally purged my mail messages along with your names. My thanks to
