I'm getting some rather weird `uucp request' message from my deamons:
From: uucp (Uucp Administrator)
Message-Id: <9003020445.AA20224 at fts1.UUCP>
Subject: uucp requests
news atronx atronxN4bc6 (3/1-2:53:39,15372,0) REQUEST (fts1!D.fts13f77067 --> atronx!D.fts13f770N4bc6 (3/1-2:59:34,15372,1) REQUEST (fts1!D.atron4bc6ea1 --> atronx!X.atronxN4bc6 (news))
news atronx atronxN4bd5 (3/1-7:06:22,17442,26) REQUEST (fts1!D.fts13faa46b --> atronx!D.fts13faa46b d5 (3/1-7:07:13,17442,27) REQUEST (fts1!D.atron4bd546b --> atronx!X.atronxN4bd5 (news))
I get these now and then, caused by different connections... It
would appear that these are the result of one process writing to
the log file at the same time as another process, however, the
two processes (15372 and 17442) are the same. The number
following the process number (0 and 1, 26 and 27) is different. I
don't know what the last part means... [late addition: the number
is the request number in that session. It seems to start at 0 and
continue up...]
I can see why the log cleaner sees this stuff when it analyses
the logfile, but I don't know why this should happen in the first
place. Upon further inspection since I wrote the last paragraph,
it appears that the only reason that I am seeing these requests
is because they have a '/' following the word REQUEST, and so
match the pattern 'REQUEST.*/' used in a grep command in
uudemon.cleanup. There are a number of other entries that are munged
but that don't fit the pattern.
We are running Interactive 386/ix which is SVR3.2 and has HDB.
Does this sound like a bug? :-)

I never liked staying in one place too long, but this is getting silly...
