Changing Disk Partitions

I am about to purchase another 450 MB of disk for our ISC 2.0.2 which is
installed on a Zenith 386/33.  We at present have a total of 450 MB and
6MB of RAM.  Basically we are looking at doubling our storage capacity.

The configuration of the partitions at present is not really
satisfactory to our requirement. (No we didn't plan this right).  We
would like to save all our present system to tape, then rebuild the
partitions from new and reinstall the tapes with all our fine tuned
configurations.

Is this the best way to go about such a process or is their a better
way??

If I do reinstall off the tapes again then obviously I am going to
over-write my partition tables etc. Which files do I need to save from
being over-written on the restoration off tape?

Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.
