MMDF and Elm (Re: elm or other message reader under SCO Unix)

That's what I thought, but one of our systems guys installed Elm on an Intel
System V system that claims to be running MMDF and has had no problem. I was
quite surprised. Are there MMDFs out there that don't put those silly ^As in
files? (and why do they do that anyway?)
